Continuing history : 2015 onwards

Since our 30th Anniversary Gala our choir has been continuing to gather strength.

2016 Continuation of Angus Simmons and Kimberley Wood music team. CBC provides singers  for Showbiz Christchurch's "Evita".

2017 in Term 2 Harry Meehan becomes new MD and Richard Oswin becomes our Accompanist. The CBC sings at the opening ceremony of the British and Irish Lions v’s Crusaders Rugby match. Some members perform in Showbiz Christchurch's Sister Act and NZ Opera’s production of Carmen.

2018 In October Nick Sutcliffe becomes our new MD, with Richard Oswin continuing as Accompanist. CBC celebrated ANZAC Day by joining the Civil Service held in the Transitional Cathedral. Some members perform in Showbiz Christchurch's Les Miserables.

2019 Nick and Richard continue as our music team. CBC are invited to join the Christchurch Girls Choir Launch Concert.

2020 During Level 4 COVID-19 Nation-wide lock down, The CBC record a virtual choir rendition of In Flanders Fields, which was shared during the Christchurch Civil Ceremony for ANZAC Day.
On 24 October 2020, we celebrated our 35th Anniversary with a 35 Years of Magic Dinner (see the page for photos).
We also continued the 35th party with our end of year concert.
By the end of 2020, which was a difficult year for choirs all round the world, we saw New Zealand heading towards a more 'normal' return to choir activities. As COVID continues to be a terrible ordeal in very many countries, we in NZ are truly thankful for the "team of 5 million" and the hard work taken to get and keep NZ COVID safe.
In February 2021 we welcomed Nic Ryan, James Mountstevens and Bob Gaudin as our new Musical Directors. The 'Trio' are sharing the role equally and bring not only talent and superb skills, but youth and enthusiasm to the role. All of our Trio were also past members of the CBC themselves. Richard Oswin is continuing as our Accompanist, truly grateful for his superb skills.

For ANZAC Day 2021 we were honoured to be part of the Civil Service held in the Transitional Cathedral, once more, sharing the choir role with Christchurch Girls' Choir and the Cathedral Choristers.
